Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE)

The Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) is the political top-level association of the German food and drink industry. For more than 65 years, it has successfully represented the common interests of the industry to governmental and administrative bodies, media, public and market partners.

What we do:

BVE's principle task is the representation of its members' common interests in the national and international context. We are a key contact partner for the German federal government - the Bundestag and the German states. We also represent the interests of the German food and drink industry at talks in Brussels and Strasbourg. BVE is part of a wide network of trade associations in Germany and Europe.
As a spokesman in fundamental questions of industrial policy and commercial relations, it is the job of BVE to ensure that the sector’s position is heard and to support the establishment of conditions that enables and promotes responsible and future-oriented business practices.

Who we work for:

BVE members are branch associations and companies from the food and drink industry in Germany. From the non-alcoholic beverage and meat industries to the confectionery and sugar industries, all the major sectors are represented in the BVE.

BVE’s main working areas:

  • Markets and competition
  • Foreign trade policy
  • Consumer policy
  • Environmental and climate policy
  • Raw materials policy
  • Sustainability
